Beginner FoursWorld of Dinosaurs
Our Beginner Fours have been learning all about the amazing world of dinosaurs. We have made dinosaur eggs from papier mâché, imagined and designed our own dinosaur skins and colors using water colors and crayons, and created “Shape-o-sauruses” by assembling shapes cut from special dinosaur paper. In our Paleontology Lab, the children examine and study dinosaur bones and fossils using “delicate” tools of the trade. Our room is filled with games, puzzles and activities related to these prehistoric creatures. This unit of study was celebrated with a Dinosaur Party. The children created dinosaur sandwich plates, and “Sediment Sludge,” for dessert. Hot dogs were served for our “carnivorous friends.” The children wore dinosaur hats and decorated T-shirts for the celebration. This cold weather has not hampered our enthusiasm; it has only given us more time to explore this wondrous topic of exploration.
We made beautiful dinosaur eggs. They are resting below in their nest, which was lovingly tended every day. The children turned the eggs and covered them to keep them warm.
We made our own Shape-O-Sauruses!
