Early Childhood Fun

We get together as a group in the Early Childhood Division every Wednesday morning. We model our morning meeting on the Responsive Classroom morning meeting style. Each child greets the person on either side of her in the circle with a smile, a "good morning", and a friendly handshake, We have news and announcements about birthdays and other special events. We sing some songs or do some fingerplays. We also have very special morning meetings when we went for our "Pumpkin Walk", learned about Hanukkah or had a party! |
We always greet each other by name and say good morning! The Kindergartners have made up lots of special handshakes and funny ways to say good morning! These are some pictures of the Beginner 3s and 4s, greeting one another at one of our morning meetings.

We learned about peace and peacemakers in the month of December. We celebrated with a peace party. This year the K-Kids made cookies, the B4s brought juice and the B3s made popcorn! We had all of our yummy snacks as we listened to a story read by Mrs. Harris. It was a wonderful way to spend time together before heading off on our winter break!
